The Rotary Club of York-North continued its tradition of supporting organizations that strengthen our community. Past President Beth Brennan presented a $500 check to Benjamin Neely and the York County History Center. Each year, the club selects a local nonprofit to receive this gift, reflecting Rotary’s commitment to service and to organizations that make York County a better place to live, work, and learn.
Neely shared an engaging look at the History Center’s new “Revolutionary York” exhibit, which explores York’s important role during 1777–1778, when the Continental Congress met in York during a pivotal period of the American Revolution. The exhibit helps bring that history to life while reminding visitors of York County’s unique place in the story of our nation.
Ben also previewed several upcoming opportunities for the community to experience local history, including Oyster Fest on October 18 and Articles of Confederation Day on November 14.
The presentation was a fitting example of Rotary International’s 2026–2027 theme, “Create Lasting Impact.” Preserving and sharing our community’s history creates connections between generations and ensures that the people, events, and lessons that shaped York County are not forgotten. By supporting organizations such as the York County History Center, York North Rotary is helping preserve the past while investing in an informed and engaged community for the future.
