Second Half of 2025-2026 in Review
This year started out on a bright, yet cold Walk for Peace by numerous members of District 7390. This effort helped the district raise $8500 toward our Global Grant Scholarship for 2026!

Next was a 100 year celebration for Elizabethtown, Mt. Joy, and Lititz. A wonderful evening with a lovely meal, historical displays and a goodie box plus special wine and beer!

Also in February, was the Liberty PELs in King of Prussia. Met up with two of my DG classmates, Mary Cook of 7340 and Jan Biros of 7450.
Joining the York North Club as they spent a day helping students navigate Junior Achievement’s “BizTown”. Members helped the young folks learn more about advertising, managing a city, selling a product, running a radio station, among just a few of the things at BizTown. A great way to encourage future entrepreneurs, city leaders and future Rotarians.
District Learning Assembly offered info on Membership, Legal Obligations of Clubs, along with other topics to help our Clubs be compliant and engaging. Fellowship started during breakfast and continued through the morning. The info provided here helps strengthen leadership knowledge in the best possible way!
Joining members of the Yellow Breeches at dinner to celebrate 88 years of existence-88 years of helping community, fellowship, and creating a better world!

All clubs in York County participated in planting 72 trees in municipalities throughout the county. Also it was Little League Opening Day – sponsored by Rotary! After the York Club President threw a pitch, they even let me fling one at the catcher!
The Rotary Leadership Summit put together by seven districts was two years of work. Here Steve Wiley of Lincoln Leadership Institute amuses and teaches the attendees about transformative leadership.

District Awards were presented after the Four Way Speech Contest at Sunday morning’s District session. Dennis Zubler, Lifetime Achievement, Rick Coplen, Dogged Pursuit and Fred Gellert, Outstanding Service Award. Working with my daughter to prepare dinners won that supported our Rotary Leadership Summit. Of course, we prepared some for ourselves at the same time…
In May, I joined PDG Juliet Altenburg one beautiful Saturday morning to support her efforts in battling breast cancer by fundraising for a walk, then ran to the Ion Battery Recycling Event held by the Carlisle Sunrise club. The club collected almost 900 lbs of batteries that won’t end up in landfills!
Joined Kathleen Stoup at the York East Club meeting as she assisted in presenting Paul Harris pins. That was a privilege I was offered several times during my visits and in the second part of the year to help in recognizing members who are supporting with time and dollars.
At the Ice Cream Social to celebrate 30 years of the Carlisle club hanging and watering flower baskets in downtown Carlisle.
These were a small offering of pictures from just the second half of the year. In the last week, I’ve been to two picnics, a Quarry Park dedication and Rebecca’s installation event. It was a busy time, a wonderful time and honestly, I’ll miss it. However, with taking on the Rotary Means Business coordination and other tasks yet to be done for D7390, I’m hanging around. I wanted to put in pictures from my trip to Taipei, however, this got so long – it will have to be another article for another day!
