The Rotary Club of York-North is deepening its commitment to community service this month through a new partnership effort with LifePath Christian Ministries.
According to York-North Service Chairperson Ed Wagman, Rotarians will volunteer every Thursday during the month of May to serve dinner to individuals and families who rely on the ministry’s services. “Every Thursday in the month of May, we’re going to have volunteers at LifePath Christian Ministries to serve dinner to all the clients that show up,” said Wagman. While the project is relatively new for the club, the initial experience made a strong impact.
“We did it once before, and we had a good response to that and saw the need,” Wagman explained. “Now we’re going to do it four times this month, and we may do it again later in the year and adopt another month.” Each Thursday evening, three Rotary volunteers will assist with meal service, helping provide both nourishment and fellowship to those attending the ministry’s programs.
The LifePath initiative is just one of many service efforts carried out by the Rotary Club of York-North throughout the year. Wagman noted that the club participates in approximately 14 service projects annually across York County. Among those efforts are multiple projects supporting the Margaret E. Moul Home, participation in summer home restoration projects through Servants Inc., and environmental initiatives such as PennDOT’s Adopt-a-Highway program. “Every spring and fall, we clean up a section of Greenbriar Road,” said Wagman. From feeding families to environmental stewardship and housing assistance, the Rotary Club of York-North continues to demonstrate Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” through hands-on involvement across the community.
