This Week’s Highlights
- Club Visits: Visits continued with the Rotary Clubs of Susquehanna Township and Lancaster South, sharing ideas and seeing their community impact firsthand.
- Peace & Learning: Celebrated the Carlisle and Carlisle-Sunrise Peace Pole dedication and joined the District Learning session on Navigating Toxic Leadership.
- One Rotary: Returned from the Zone Summit, where leaders representing 15 nations reinforced the power of relevance, partnership, and working with our communities.
- Keep Learning & Collecting: Our Early Literacy Book Drive is one-third of the way to 1,700 books, and registration is open for Rotary Leadership Institute on October 10!
This week, my club visits continued with the Rotary Clubs of Susquehanna Township and Lancaster South. Thank you to both clubs for the warm welcome, new ideas, and for sharing the many ways you’re making a difference in your communities.
I had the opportunity to celebrate with the Rotary Clubs of Carlisle and Carlisle-Sunrise as they installed their second peace pole this Rotary year, and I joined in on the informative Zoom session presented by Harrisburg Rotarian, Rachel Gabriel, on Navigating Toxic Leadership. The District Learning Committee is committed to bringing short, online learning topics to us each month – so keep an eye out for October’s topic!
I also returned from our Rotary Zone Summit, where leaders representing 15 nations came together, and despite the many different communities, cultures, and languages represented, the message was clear: One Rotary.
One thought I brought home with me was, “Growth follows relevance.” It challenges us to ask: Is our club relevant in our community? Are we creating experiences people want to be a part of? And are we inviting others to join us?
Another message that stuck with me was: stop doing for, stop doing to, and start doing with. Lasting impact comes from partnership within our clubs and alongside the communities we serve.
Two quick reminders: our Early Literacy Book Drive is now one-third of the way to our 1,700 book goal! Keep collecting and help us keep that momentum going in our last 8 weeks!
Registration is open for Rotary Leadership Institute on October 10th. Whether you’re a newer Rotarian or have been part of Rotary for years, RLI is a great opportunity to learn, connect, and discover more of what Rotary has to offer.
