The Myerstown-ELCO Rotary Club had a busy and productive month of May. We began by presenting a $1,000 donation to our ELCO Interact Club to support its fundraising efforts for the development of a Veterans Memorial at the high school.

Early in the month, we once again partnered with the Interact Club to complete a community service project. Alongside 15 Interact members, Rotarians scrubbed and cleaned 13 Rotary benches located throughout area parks.

Our club was also proud to celebrate our annual essay contest winners, our first place essay who went on to become the district winner. Our top 3 winners attended a breakfast meeting and shared their winning essays with the club.

We then received approval for our Club Grant to purchase doors for the ELCO Legacy Barn, a community-built, hands-on agricultural learning space. This project is much more than a barn — it is a launchpad for careers, a bridge between school and community, and a foundation for the future of agriculture in Lebanon County. Rotary is proud to play a small part in supporting this important initiative.

The month of May also saw the installation of the fountain at the fish dam in Myerstown. This Rotary-funded project not only enhances the beauty of the pond, but also helps strengthen aquatic life within it.

We ended the month with one of our major projects, the Flags for Heroes campaign. This year marked our tenth anniversary and included the placement of 175 flags in honor of local military personnel, firefighters, EMS workers, police officers, teachers, and other community heroes. The event culminated in a special program celebrating all the wonderful contributions these heroes make to our community.
