Greetings, District 7390! This week’s message is coming to you from a slightly different location, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport! I’m traveling with our District Governor Team, DGE Aaron Jacobs and DGN Elizabeth Wolf, to the One Rotary Zone Summit in Cancun, where we will spend the next several days learning, connecting, and bringing new ideas home to our district.

And learning seems like an especially appropriate theme this week!

My club visits took me to the Rotary Clubs of Eastern York County and Harrisburg, and I also had the opportunity to join the Rotary Club of Millersburg for their annual ferry boat fundraiser ride. Thank you to all three clubs for the warm welcomes and for sharing a little of what makes your Rotary experience unique.

September is Basic Education and Literacy Month, and while much of our attention is rightly focused on creating opportunities for children and strengthening literacy in our early learning communities (we’re nearly halfway to our goal), I think it’s also a good reminder that none of us ever really finishes learning.

Every club visit teaches me something. Every conversation offers a different perspective. And this week, I’m getting on several planes for yet another opportunity to learn!

You don’t have to travel to join me, though. We have two opportunities right here in District 7390: Navigating Toxic Leadership, September 22 on Zoom, and our Vibrant Club Summit, September 26 at Messiah University.

Whether you’ve been a Rotarian for 20 years or 20 days, I hope you’ll keep asking questions, sharing ideas, and finding opportunities to learn from one another.

Have a wonderful week; I’ll see you when I’m back in PA!
