Day of Service: As part of our commitment to Service Above Self, we have an opportunity to partner with Servants Incorporated of Red Lion for a Community Day of Service. This is a chance for our clubs to work together on meaningful projects that will directly benefit local families and strengthen our community. Wednesday, August 12 - Whether you are able to assist with construction and repair projects or prefer to help through other service opportunities, there is a place for everyone to participate.
Outdoor Service Projects with Servants Incorporated
Time: Approximately 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Various project sites throughout the community
Servants Incorporated has identified two projects that they believe our Rotary Club can successfully complete during the morning service window:
Michael Ibaugh Residence
- Deck repairs and staining
- Volunteer need: 3–6 volunteers
Brenda & Richard Demnowicz Residence
- Staining an accessibility ramp
- Constructing a landing at the bottom of a stairway
- Volunteer need: 6–10 volunteers
Together, these projects will require approximately 5–15 volunteers and will make a meaningful difference for these homeowners.
Alternative Service Opportunity
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Faith United Methodist Church (126 East Market Street, Hallam, PA)
For those who prefer a less physically demanding activity, volunteers may participate in baking cookies for local first responders and writing letters of encouragement and appreciation to military service members. These gifts and messages will be distributed as a small token of gratitude for their service.
Volunteer Information
- Volunteers under 18 must participate with an adult leader or organized group.
- We recommend one adult leader for every five youth participants.
- Children under 10 should serve directly with a parent or guardian.
- Anyone planning to participate in a Servants project must complete the volunteer registration form.
