Two Minutes with the District Governor
This Week’s Highlights
- We're officially more than halfway to 1,700 books! The Rotary Club of Carlisle contributed over 500 books to the Early Literacy Book Drive last week.
- Create opportunities to participate. Invite a friend, attend a service project, host an Open House, share an idea...small invitations can build incredible momentum.
- RLI is October 10 at Central Penn College. Space is limited, so register now! I look forward to learning with you next weekend!

Hello, District 7390!
Another great week of Rotary across our District.
My club visits continued with the Rotary Club of Carlisle, and I definitely did not leave empty-handed! They sent me home with more than 500 books for our Early Literacy Book Drive.
That's right, with that donation, we are officially more than halfway to our goal of 1,700 books!
Thank you to Carlisle and to every club and Rotarian who has collected, donated, ordered from our wish list, or helped spread the word. Keep those books coming! If your club has books ready to go, reach out to me and we'll arrange a pickup.
I also had the opportunity to attend a dynamic Open House with the Rotary Club of Eastern York County. It was exciting to see new faces in the room, conversations happening, and people getting an opportunity to experience Rotary for themselves.
And here’s the lesson in both of those experiences:
Momentum doesn't usually come from one big action. It comes from giving people a way to participate.
Donate a book. Invite a friend. Attend a service project. Come to an Open House. Host an Open House. Share an idea. Say yes to something new.
As leaders (and as Rotarians), our job isn't always to do more ourselves. Sometimes our most important job is to create the opportunity for someone else to take the next step.
So this week, think about one opportunity you can create for someone else to participate in Rotary. Make the invitation. Give them a place to start.
Because enough small steps, taken together, can create some pretty incredible momentum.
Have a wonderful week, District 7390. Thank you for all the ways you continue to serve, connect, and create opportunities for others. Don’t forget to join me at the Rotary Leadership Institute October 10th at Central Penn College – space is limited, be sure to register now!
