So far I have greatly enjoyed studying in the UK. I have had the opportunity to study alongside leading scholars in the field of international development and education, taking a variety of classes in the field. For instance, I have taken a course on the Role of the State in Education and in the Future of Learning in the Digital Age. Additionally, on campus, I have taken on the role of ESOL A1 Coordinator for the North East Solidarity and Teaching project. Essentially, this involves teaching refugees in the area English to better assist them in their integration within the UK and in the North East. In this role, I coordinate weekly lessons and manage a team of volunteers for our beginner-level classes. This semester, I will complete an international field placement, which will provide me with practical experience in education within an international context. I have also had the chance to explore the North quite a bit, and I was even able to see the castle in which the Harry Potter films were made.Sincerely,
Ali Husaini
