Dear Rotarians,
The District 7390 Pints for Polio fundraiser on World Polio Day, October 24, is coming together nicely!  THANK YOU to all the Rotarians who worked to contact and secure establishments that are willing to donate a portion of their proceeds to Polio Plus.  EVERYONE is invited to participate in this effort.  I hope everyone will plan to go out on 10/24 and bring your family, friends and, perhaps, a designated driver!  I encourage clubs to plan group outings to the establishments in your area. Remember, all proceeds from the evening will be matched 2:1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Please see the attached flyer for all of the participating locations and details.  Print the flyer and bring along to the establishments on World Polio Day to ensure that your expenditures are included in the donations!  It’s not too late to add other establishments to the list.  If you know of another establishment that might consider participating, please ask them and connect interested parties with me at
As for me, I’m still trying to figure out how I can attend multiple events and meet up with your group outings around the district.  If you have a group outing planned, please let me know so I can map out some visits!
My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Trevor Reed, President of the Rotary Club of New Holland for generously donating his time and talents to the creation of this promotional flyer.
On another subject, the Rotary Leadership Institute is scheduled for Saturday, October 14 at Central Penn College.  This is a GREAT training event for club leaders and Rotarians positioned for future leadership.  The instructional format is excellent, but the opportunity to interact with and learn from fellow Rotarians from different clubs and different locations throughout District 7390 is priceless.  We can learn so much from one another!  Full details and registration at  I hope to see you there!
Yours in Rotary,
District Governor Una Martone
