Juliet Altenburg, D7390 District Public Image Chair
One of Rotary International’s strategic priorities is “expanding our reach”. We do this by educating our communities on the impact we have through our service, and the many activities we engage in. Expanding this reach leads to increased membership so we can increase our impact in the world.
In an effort to foster public image efforts and grow membership, our District now has a Public Image Committee. These dedicated members are focused on increasing the visibility of Rotary in our District through support of clubs and other public image efforts. Thank you to the following Rotarians who are part of the team:
District Public Image Chair, PDG Juliet Altenburg, Mechanicsburg-North
DG Mary Brunski – Carlisle
Dave Davies – York-North
Abigail Spangler – Palmyra
DGE Rebecca Zalit – Palmyra
Melissa Kopp-Smith – D7390 Passport
We are looking for more Rotarians who can share their public image talents with us! Examples of talents we are seeking include video creation, Canva expertise with creating images, and any professional background in the PR industry. Contact PDG Juliet at DGJuliet2022@QRPC.com for more information.

York North Rotarians served dinner at Lifepath Ministies on June 16th. LifePath Christian Ministries is addressing the growing and complex issue of homelessness in York County with a compassionate and community-focused approach. Rather than aiming to eliminate homelessness entirely, their goal is to help individuals move through the experience quickly and with dignity, minimizing trauma. They recognize that the face of homelessness is changing, and the community must adapt in order to respond effectively. With alarming numbers on the rise, LifePath emphasizes the importance of collective action and support in making meaningful progress.
In 2023 alone, LifePath served over 101,000 meals, provided more than 43,000 nights of shelter, and supported upwards of 3,500 individuals. The organization made significant strides in 2024, placing 851 people—including 164 children—into safe housing, with a recidivism rate of just 5.1%, well below the national average. Notably, 941 seniors were served in 2024, up from 350 in 2020, highlighting increased needs among older populations. More than 60% of guests come from outside York City, and over half are employed, demonstrating that homelessness can affect a wide range of individuals, many of whom are actively working to improve their situations.
The U.S. is ending grant funding for international aid, including Polio immunization. As Rotarians, we must help raise even more money this year for Polio Plus.

Each participating Club will recieve RI Foundation credits for the money raised from their ticket sales. Also, the Gates Foundation will match $2 for every $1 raised. Over the last few years, Strike-Out Hunger has raised enough money for the innoculation of around 1.5 million children.
