The Rotary Club of York hosted and sponsored the 76th RMB networking event in Rotary District 7390 history and the third event of the 2025 RMB season on July 30 at Marketview Arts in York. The club used a very innovative and effective approach that worked perfectly with the large number of attendees. This was the best attended and most successful RMB networking event ever.
There were 99 RSVPs and walkins of which roughly 85 attended from nine area clubs (York, Uptown York, York North, Hanover, Harrisburg, Carlisle, West Shore, Palmyra, and Lancaster Penn Square) representing all areas of District 7390. The 2024-2025 Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound Class will be holding a Rebound get-together on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Central Penn College (600 Valley Road, Summerdale, PA 17093). The students and parents are required to attend a de-briefiing session from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Arrival/Registration for students and parents will be 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The sessions will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m.
At 3:00 p.m. Rotarians, family, and friends are invited to attend! This is a chance to hear more about the fantastic experiences our students had throughout the year.

The Rotary Clubs of Carlisle and Carlisle Sunrise will host and event sponsor the 77th RMB networking event in District 7390 Chapter # 4 of the Rotary Means Business Fellowship history and the fourth event of the 2025 RMB season on Wednesday, September 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Dickinson College (exact site remains to be determined). The Special Event and Venue Sponsor (equivalent to Major Sponsor) will be the A.C.E. Peer Mentors and the Popel Shaw Center for Race & Ethnicity. The event will be FREE and will include light hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer, soft drinks, and water. Sixty chairs will be set up so that the event can be run as it was last year.
This will be another in a longstanding series of great business networking opportunities for both profit and non-profit organizations. Do not miss it. Also, please consider bringing potential Rotarian guests, Rotaractors, and Family of Rotary.

PDG Margie Hass (Zone 28) and PDG Hector Ortiz (Zone 32) are delighted to serve this year as Assistant Governor mentors/facilitators, which aim at assisting Assistant Governors to facilitate knowledge, reaffirm your commitment and serve as resource in the important role they play in supporting clubs and district.
The mission of the Assistant Governor Mentors/Facilitators is to support districts, enhance learning, and facilitate discussions to better serve clubs and Rotarians in Zones 28 and 32.
What AG Zone mentors/facilitators do?
Ensure AGs understand their roles and responsibilities
Offer learning for new and experienced AGs
Facilitate forums to better lead others
Connect with leaders and resources
Facilitate sessions at PELS, AG Institute and other venues

What is the Cost to attend RLI? - Rotary Clubs should pay for their members to attend RLI. The cost is $125 per Rotarian to attend.
What is RLI? - A leadership and development program to strengthen Rotary Clubs through education, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among its future leaders. A three-part curriculum facilitated by experienced, trained faculty members engaging participants through open discussion, problem solving and creative role-play.
What will I learn at RLI? - More about Rotary, The Rotary Foundation, Membership, Ethics, Service Projects, Communications, Strategic Planning and Analysis. You’ll also make new friends and enjoy fellowship and networking opportunities.

York North Rotarians served a picnic style dinner for the residents at Bell Socialization Services this summer. Bell Socialization Services is York County’s only 30-day emergency shelter for homeless families. Families often become homeless due to insufficient income, job loss, or poor housing conditions.
The shelter offers temporary housing with supportive services to help families regain independence. The facility includes eleven bedrooms and can house up to 40 people per night. Basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter are provided.
Bell Socialization’s staff provide intensive support, helping many families secure permanent housing within 20 days. Impressively, 89% of families who use the shelter do not return to emergency housing. The shelter is inclusive of adult males, allowing fathers and older boys to stay with their families.
Bell Socialization Services offers:
Thirty-day emergency housing
Intensive staff support to secure permanent housing
Referrals to vital community resources for follow-up services and support
Transitional housing through the Bridge Housing Program for up to one year to work on long-term goals
At a recent meeting of the York East Rotary Club, Lydia Eifer, Director of Safety Town York, shared a heartwarming and informative update on the 2025 Safety Town program — a beloved and impactful summer tradition that has been sponsored by the York East Rotary Club for almost its entirety. With 116 children participating this year, Safety Town continues to serve as an important first step in helping young children build lifelong habits of safety and awareness. Designed for children ages 3 to 8, Safety Town is a two-week educational experience held in sessions throughout the summer. Each session offers a blend of fun and practical learning through hands-on experiences, engaging activities, and direct interaction with local first responders and safety professionals. “Safety Town is more than just a summer program,” Eifer explained. “It’s a community effort to prepare our youngest citizens to navigate everyday situations safely and confidently.”
Program highlights include visits and demonstrations from local fire, police, and rescue departments, as well as lessons in pedestrian and rider safety, proper use of 911, drug abuse prevention, and healthy personal practices. One especially popular feature is street grid where kids ride bikes, practice crosswalks, and experience real-life traffic situations on a safe scale. The program also integrates songs, games, movies, and coloring activities to reinforce each day’s safety theme. Children enjoy singing safety songs and interactive lessons. Eifer emphasized the importance of forming good safety habits during early childhood. “These are the years when children begin to develop attitudes and patterns that can last a lifetime,” she said. “Our goal is to instill a general safe attitude that will help them make good decisions as they grow.” Safety Town is led by a certified teacher and supported by a team of educational professionals, caring assistants, and dedicated volunteers. York East Rotary members expressed their appreciation for Eifer’s dedication and for the program’s ongoing success. With another safe and successful summer wrapped up, Safety Town continues to make a lasting difference — one child, one safety lesson at a time.
