The 63rd Annual RYLA Conference was held in District 7390 from June 8 to 12. It was a huge success for the 81 rising seniors in attendance! They learned about being an effective leader and that the best leaders are also the best listeners! The students participated in many activities throughout the week that included listening to motivational speakers, attending career seminars and most importantly having FUN!
At the closing Family Night Celebration on June 12, the top 4 conferees were announced. These conferees were voted on by their peers and selected to be the top conferees: Suha Rockwell (Rotary Club of Susquehanna Township), Jesse Kuriuki (Rotary Club of Colonial Park), Reagan Miller (Rotary Club of York-East) and Vladimir VonGetzie (Rotary Club of Hershey).
Does your company ever bring in Interns? We have several members across the District that work for local Colleges/Universities and think this might be a good resource for our members. If you offer school year internships or just summer internships, paid or unpaid, please contact DGE Mary Brunski (mbtexaspa@gmail.com) and we'll work on getting the information to the right person to connect you and students. Whether it's an internship for accounting or for digital marketing, most businesses can use extra hands and students can use the experience!
